The Handicapper v2 |

The ultimate goal is to identify profitable odds in the wide MLB market through comprehensive analysis. The policy is not to find daily top-pics or "bets of the year", but instead determine the cases where the offered odds creates a solid ground for a winning bet. The basic ideas of the analysis lie in a large variety of fundamental and statistical measurements of both team and player qualities and ballpark characteristics. Even if a major part of the evaluation process is based on statistical calculations, the strategic and league specific aspects of each game are also weighed. More of the model and of the way of handicapping can be found in the Analysis-section.
The Handicapper is an excel-based handicapping tool for MLB-betting. The program is the result of several years of studies and countless hours of work in the fields of general baseball knowledge, sabermetrics and some hardcore trial-and-error programming. All the knowledge I have gained throughout this process is reflected in the simulation result of a single MLB-game. |
